Saying my goodbyes

After much thought and many groggy evenings, I have decided to give up sugar. It's a decision that has not come to me lightly, nor is it one that I take without full consideration.

It has become more and more evident to me over the past few months what a strong reaction I have to the white stuff.  I think I knew it all along, but only now was I beginning to truly understand how much it affected my life.  I now look at sugar like an addition. I need my "fix" every few hours. To me, the best way to remove an addition is to go cold turkey and completely get rid of it. This is no easy feat considering that sugar is in just about everything including bread! I hope that this process will make me more educated about processed foods and the effects of sugar.

My goal is to stop eating sugar for 6 months. At that time I can reflect on my progress and hopefully continue my ban on sugar.

In preparation for this challenge I have scoured the internet for resources. Not surprisingly, I found that there are many others like me who have taken a vow to give up sugar and have successfully achieved their goal.

I look forward to this challenge!
